Quick thinking and even faster reactions contributed to this play against the Delta Rabbits. With a Rabbit runner nearing second base, Cassidy Wiscombe tosses the ball quickly to Michelle Ruden for a quick out at second base. Despite several big plays by the Dinos, the Rabbits kick was too strong for the Carbon team.

In what has turned out to be a difficult season for the Lady Dinos softball team, the woes continue to plague the talented ball club.
The team’s record is currently 1-6, which is not reflective of the skills the team posses. It seems as if the team is trapped into a cycle which will not allow the Dinos to prevail victorious after the last few innings of the game.
Last weeks home game against the Delta Rabbits played out much like many of the Dinos losses this season. The team plays strong throughout the game, most especially on the defensive end of the field. The couple of mistakes that the team makes most often leads to the Dinos defeat. Last weeks game was no different.
The Dinos started the game strong, competing quite evenly with the Rabbits. By the bottom of the fourth inning, the Dinos found themselves ahead of the Rabbits, 3-0.
The three runs in the fourth came from a three base hit by Hailee Vigil. The play not only left the Dinos eager to win, but the Rabbits determined to stop the Dinos from stomping them out of the ball game.
The fifth inning would be the beginning of the end for the Dinos after the Rabbits scored two runs in the top of the inning. The runs were unanswered by the Dinos in the bottom of the fifth.
The Rabbits continued to jump all over the Dinos in the sixth inning. The Rabbits managed to run in three runs and take over the lead 5-3 entering the bottom of the sixth. The Dinos took their turn at bat, however things did not go in the favor of the home team. The Dinos failed to score, thus leaving the Rabbits ahead entering into the last inning of the game.
The Rabbits found their chance to put the Dinos away, after scoring one run in the top of the seventh. The Dinos refused to give up however, giving their best effort in the bottom of the seventh. These efforts were not enough for the Dinos who suffered a 6-3 loss to the region eight Delta Rabbits.
The next game in line for the Dinos will be held in Moab on Tuesday. The Dinos hope to get past the late inning woes and jump to a victory. The end of the season is rapidly approaching, and the Dinos have all intentions of finishing the year strong.
