Waylon Belliston


SPANISH FORK – Waylon Jerry Belliston died peacefully surrounded by those he loved Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, due to injuries sustained in a four-wheeler accident.
Waylon was born June 9, 1978 to Jerry Belliston and Kathy Kay. He married Sherilyna Gull. They were blessed with a daughter, MaKayla Ann Belliston, who was her daddy’s greatest pride and joy.
Waylon is survived by wife, Sheri; daughter, MaKayla Ann; parents, Jerry and Dana (Cook) Belliston; brother, Brandon (Melaine) Belliston; two sisters, Katie Anderson and Melissa Anderson; grandparents, Gordon and Phillis Belliston; Mervin and Betty Cook; and many very special aunts, uncles and cousins/
Waylon, we held you for such a short time. Now, we hold you in our hearts forever. ‘Til we’re together again, we love you. Dad and mom.
Funeral services were Aug. 10. Burial, Spanish Fork cemetery.


Dorothy Bailey


FERRON – Our beloved Dorothy Jean Brock Bailey passed away suddenly at her home in Ferron Aug. 7, 2002 at the age of 72.
She was born May 19, 1930 in Kenilworth to William “Bill” and Inez Rasmussen Brock. She married Reid William Bailey Aug. 7, 1954 in Ferron and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She enjoyed many hobbies, including square dancing, geneaology, reading, crocheting, camping and fishing.
She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions.
She is survived by children, Scott (Sherrie) Bailey, Ferron: Linda Lee (John) Luce, Oakview, Calif.; special children of Reid’s, Reid William “Bill” Bailey Jr., West Valley City; Lorraine (Jerry) Moreland, Mur-ray; John Wayne (Margaret) Bailey, West Jordan; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Reid William Bailey; Reid’s daughter, Carolyn Bailey; and brother, Dan Baker.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 2 p.m. at the Ferron Millsite LDS Ward Chapel, (red building). A viewing will be prior to the funeral at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Interment, Ferron City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale.


Brian Robertson


HUNTINGTON – Our beloved Brian Eric Robertson, 47, passed away at his home Aug. 12, 2002 surrounded by his loving family after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born June 27, 1955 in Oildale, Calif., to Uel Olen and Marjorie Cook Robertson. He married Rebecca Rae Brunn Sept. 7, 1974 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Brian had many things in life that brought him joy and happiness including genealogy, scouting, coaching high school softball and being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His greatest joy in life was his family and spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Robertson, Huntington; children, Adaire (Nash) Baltzer, Salt Lake City; Christy (Bruce) Yost, Castle Dale; Elise (Jerod) Curtis, Orangeville; Heather (Casey) Alton, Huntington; Lindsey Robertson, also of Huntington; five grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Olen McKenzie (Peggy) Robertson, Brighton, Colo.; Ralph Cook (Rhonda) Robertson, Casper, Wyo.; and Robert Cook (Krista) Robertson, Provo. He was preceded in death by parents.
Friends may call for visitation Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale. A graveside service will be Thursday at 11 a.m in the Huntington cemetery, with interment to follow.


Wanda Petersen


AMERICAN FORK – Wanda Snow Petersen, age 90, died Aug. 9, 2002 at her home.
She was born Dec. 12, 1911 in Emery County to Mason Levi and Sarah B. Marsing Snow. She married Lorenzo E. Petersen June 28, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Wanda received her master of science in education at BYU in 1963 and, for 38 years, taught school, mostly grades one to three at Wellington School in Carbon County and Greenwood and Shelley schools in American Fork.
She was active in many organizations, including 4-H clubs, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Democratic Party, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, the American Fork Art Council, the League of Utah Writers and Penn Women.
In addition, she served in the Primary and young women’s organization of the LDS Church.
She has written and published five books.
She is survived by four children, Kay Marie Golding, La Habra, Calif.; Myrna Ellen Olsen, American Fork; Norma LaRene Despain, Honolulu, Hawaii; and Jim Lorenzo Petersen, American Fork. She has 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wed-nesday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m. at the American Fork Hillcrest LDS Stake Center, 165 N. 350 North, where friends may call Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Burial, Ferron cemetery, 4 p.m., under the direction of Anderson & Sons Mortuary, American Fork.


Clyde Johnson


HUNTINGTON – Clyde Upton Johnson, age 96, passed away Aug. 12, 2002 in Price.
He was born Aug. 6, 1906 in Huntington to Lewis William and Louisa Westover Johnson.
He worked as an auto mechanic and barber in Huntington for many years.
He enjoyed music and sang in the Huntington Glee Club and played in the senior citizens kitchen band.
He is survived by one brother, Kenneth Johnson of Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were Monday, Aug. 19, in the Huntington cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.


Rose Beckley


HELPER/ST. LOUIS, Miss. – Rose DeRose Cox Beckley, age 81, passed away Aug. 11, 2002 at Castleview Hospital.
She was born April 17, 1921 in Sunnyside, to Frank and Caroline Sicilia DeRose. Married O. Leroy Cos Sept. 16, 1944. He died Nov. 18, 1965. Married Jesse Edward Beckley Oct. 1967 in St. Louis, Mo. He died January 1978.
Rose was a longtime resident of Helper and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and music.
Survived by two daughters and one son, Linda Eyster, Manchester, Mo.; Carolyn (Don) Burgener, Kansas City, Mo.; son, Michael (Patricia) Cox, Fenton, Mo.; brother, Louie (Lena) DeRose, Springville; sisters, Florence Johnson, Helper; Millie (Nick) Georgedes, Corte Madera, Calif.; Carm DeRose, Helper; five grandchildren and one lovely great-granddaughter.
Friends are welcome at Mitchell Funeral Home Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Committal service Thursday, Aug. 16, Resurrection Cemetery, St. Louise. Mo. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
