Carbon High still looking for head football coach.
At a Carbon School District board meeting earlier this month, the board announced that Newt Rockney III would take over as the head football coach for Carbon High. After further consideration, Rockney has declined the offer, thus leaving the school without a coach for the upcoming season.
The position became vacant last fall when Troy Moynier announced his resignation. The district has been searching for a replacement since this time and will continue to do so until the postition is filled.
Green River cruise cancelled.
The annual Green River friendship cruise has been canceled due to low water levels in the Green and Colorado Rivers. The event was scheduled for Memorial Day weekend and would send participants through areas located along the Green and Colorado Rivers into Moab. The event which usually takes two to three days to complete, will resume next year, water levels permitting.
