Some residents favor the Olympics in Utah, others do not and some simply don’t care. But no matter how one feels, the views in the ‘city of salt’ during the games are spectacular. Many Carbon residents who have ventured to the city and to the games have found traffic to be less of a hassle than expected. However, the crowds can be extremely large, as was demonstrated by last Saturday’s estimate of hundreds of thousands of people flocking into the downtown area in Salt Lake City. For some visitors, however, the 2002 Winter Olympic Games represent an international heaven with different people from throughout the world taking up temporary residence. The views associated with the event will last for only a few more weeks until the Para-Olympics have concluded.
