Dinos complete sweep over North Sanpete

The Carbon High School baseball team won its third and final game against North Sanpete High School 8-4 on Friday, sweeping the Hawks.
The Dinos jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning. However, the Hawks claimed the lead in the bottom of the inning, scoring four runs of their own.
Carbon settled down after the first inning, and the four runs were all that the Dinos allowed in the game. Carbon tied the score at four runs in the second inning on an RBI single by senior Jayden Flemett, then took a three-run lead in the fourth inning.
Senior Gavin Robinett hit an RBI double to score senior Wyatt Wilson, who reached on a single. Junior Cody Lowe hit an RBI double to score Robinett, and Flemett hit a single, on which Lowe scored on the throw.
The Dinos tacked on one more insurance runs in the seventh inning on an RBI single by sophomore Ty Anderson.
Senior Gavin Robinett started the game for the Dinos, but only lasted the first inning, allowing four earned runs and striking out two. Senior Chase Morgan entered in the second inning and finished out the game for the Dinos, shutting out the Hawks over six innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Flemett finished the day 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBI. Lowe and Robinett each went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
The Dinos improve to 11-7 overall and 7-2 in Region 12 play. Carbon will face a big match-up against Canyon View High School this week, hosting the Falcons for a doubleheader on Tuesday, then traveling on Friday. The doubleheader will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
